The Maharashtra Examinations Authority - DTE will soon start to issuing application forms of CET 2010 and further procedures. CET 2010 of Maharashtra will be held at ~ 300 centres across the state. DTE issues application forms of MHT CET 2010 (Maharashtra CET 2010) in February every year. Maharashtra Government invites applications from all the candidates who are interested in taking admission in various health sciences degree courses. The admission in the same is done on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidate in MHT-CET which is conducted by Maharashtra University itself. This time, the exam will be conducted on 7th May, 2009 and students interested must register themselves before the last date.

MHT-Medical-CET 2010 is an entrance exam conducted for admission to all private, Government, Aided & Unaided Medical/Dental/Health Science colleges in Maharashtra for various Undergraduate Health Science courses which include MBBS, BDS, BSc(Nursing), BAMS, BUMS, BPTh etc. In simple terms for candidates in Maharashtra MHT-CET is the most important MedicalEntrance Exam for getting admission in Maharashtra Medical, Dental and Health Science Colleges. Though there are a large number of seats in all these colleges but there is a lot of competition for getting admission in best colleges specially for MBBS course.

Candidates even from outside Maharashtra can appear for MHT-CET 2010 though they can only get admission in Private unaided colleges for a limited number of seats. Even candidates from outside Maharashtra can apply for 15% all India seats.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate should be an Indian National and must be between 17 years-25 years of age as on 31st December, 2010. Also a candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology with atleast 50% aggregate marks in PCB for MBBS and BAMS courses and 50% aggregate in BDS and BSc. Nursing courses . There is 10% relaxation for Maharashtra backward classes. Candidates appearing for 10+2 examinations in 2010 can also apply. Availability of Application Forms:

There will be a common form for Engineering, Health Science and Pharmacy Courses. Application forms along with brochures for MHT-CET will be available at the schools/junior colleges of students where they have studied in Maharashtra. Candidates have to submit the completely filled application forms in their schools before the last date.

Government of Maharashtra conducted a single combined “Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET-2009 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2009-2010. The said CET held on May 12, 2009.
Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET)-2009 Results for medical, engineering and pharmacy degree courses will be announced on 14th June, 2009 (Sunday), 10 am.

This is a common entrance exam for the admission in all the Health Sciences in various colleges of Maharashtra. The Government of Maharashtra is appointed a Competent Authority for the MHT – CET for each stream. The seats in Health Science Courses are at all Government / Municipal Corporation and Government aided Health Science institutions. The respective Competent Authorities shall devise the system of Counseling and Selection.. For selection to Health Science degree courses, The Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai is the Competent Authority. The merit list of MHT-CET is utilized for the admission in Government. / Corp. / Government. Aided Colleges of Health Sciences degree courses.

A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with atleast 50% aggregate marks in PCM . There is 5% relaxation forMaharashtra backward classes. Candidates appearing for 10+2 examinations in 2010 can also apply.

• Availability of CET Forms: March 2nd-4th week, 2010
• Last Date for submission of CET forms: 4th week, 2010
• Date of CET: May 1st week, 2010
• Declaration of Results: Mid June 2010

Please note that the dates are only tentative and are not final. The post will be updated as soon as the dates are officially released.

Pattern of Examination:

The entrance exam for engineering entrance will consist of two papers of 1 and a half hours each:

1. Physics & Chemistry(50+50 marks)
2. Mathematics(100 marks)

All the questions will be objective type with 4 options each. There will be no negative marking so the candidates are advised to attempt all the questions. The syllabus of the exam will be same as HSC Examination of Board ofMaharashtra.
